Quick Packing Tips to Keep in Mind when Moving
Are you preparing for a move? Whether it's job-related, if you are downsizing home maintenance costs or if you have a growing family and you need a bigger house, the moving part is something that a lot of people consider to be a nuisance. However, you can make the process of moving as fuss-free as possible by following these quick packing tips:
• Prepare all your packing materials first.
Once you have already determined the date of your move, that's the time that you should start packing so you won't have to rush to the finish line. The first thing that you can do is prepare all your packing materials like boxes, tapes, bubble wrap, etc.
• Follow the 30-pound rule.
A good rule of thumb to follow when moving is to not let each box be heavier than 30 pounds. Anything over this weight may cause injuries to the one who's carrying the box, not to mention the possibility of the things falling over the bottom of the box then breaking.
• Have the members of your family pack one luggage each.
Once you move into your new home, things will be quite difficult to find so have each family member pack his or her won luggage containing clothes, grooming essentials, things for school or for work, etc.
• Have "Open Me First" boxes for each room of the house.
Just like the individual luggage for each family member, there are essentials that you need to open first for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and other parts of the house. Label these as "Open Me First" boxes so that you would not have to go scrambling for plates when you have to eat in your new home. Pack using a one-room-at-a-time basis so that you can keep things organized.
Follow these packing tips and you will be all set to move to your new place in no time at all!
